We are interested in hearing raw emotion, authenticity, and powerful truth of mental illness and/or trauma over literary verbiage.

We want to hear from ALL people, regardless of demographic, as we know mental illness and trauma can affect any and everyone.

We are especially interested in hearing from young voices, from teenage years through 25, as there is a youth mental health crisis, but this is not a rule.

We are open to accepting fiction, nonfiction, micro memoir, auto-fiction, poetry, prose, and visual art.

We accept on a quarterly basis, and we are currently accepting work for the fall issue.

We are not able to provide compensation for submissions.

We accept simultaneous submissions and previously published work.

More narrative-driven fiction or nonfiction pieces, including longer works, tend to find a better home on our blog. When submitting to Life in Limbo magazine, you are also submitting to the Life in Limbo blog. If accepted to the blog, it will be indicated as such in your acceptance email.

By submitting, you are agreeing that: you retain copyright to your work, you grant us first publication rights when we make an agreement if your piece is chosen, you allow us to publish your work in both print and digital formats, and you can republish your work elsewhere after 3 months.
